Palaeocene Palynofossils from the Lalitpur Intertrappean Beds, Uttar Pradesh, India

The Deccan Intertrappean Beds exposed about 3 km north-east of the Papro village, Lalitpur District, Uttar Pradesh, were palynologically investigated. The assemblage comprises Palaeocene marker species like Dandotiaspora dilata and Dandotiaspora pseudoauriculata along with Lakiapollis ovatus and Spinizonocolpites echinatus. On this basis, a Palaeocene age is ascribed for this intertrappean bed.

Abstract


The Deccan Intertrappean Beds exposed about 3 km north-east of the Papro village, Lalitpur District, Uttar Pradesh, were palynologically investigated.
