The paper presenst taxonomic observations on the Rotorboides granulosum (Heron-Allen and Earland), a less known foraminiferid collected during the course of investigation of Recent littoral sediments along Palk Strait (9° N to 10° N) and Kakinada Bay, east coast of India. Systematics and the microstructure of this rotaliid, found in the shallow and protected tropical waters of the world since Middle Pliocene has been discussed vis-a-vis its origin and significance in the paleoenvironmental and paleolatitudinal reconstruction of the Tetiary strata, elsewhere. Keywords

A new species of podocopid ostracode-Quadracythere tewarii-is described from the Early Eocene Inter-trappean beds of Rajahrnundry area, Andhra Pradesh. The scanning electron study reveals the presence of numerous single pores of different shapes and sizes situated in the depressions produced by reticulating ornamental ridges on the lateral sides of the carapace. The associated microfauna indicates that Q. tewarii flourished in a near-shore, epineritic environment having open-sea connection.- Hermanites sastryi - A New Species of Ostracoda from Lower Eocene of Andhra Pradesh, India

A new species of Ostracoda - Hermanites sastryi - has been described from the Inter-trappean beds of Lower Eocene age, Pungadi area, east coast of India. Stereoscan study of the surface pores exhibits numerous tiny, normal, pores haphazardly scattered all over the surface in addition to frequent, comparatively large, sunken, sieve pores confined to ornamental costae.- Cluster Analysis of the Foraminiferal Fauna from the Beaches of the East and West Coasts of India with Reference to Foramgeographical Provinces of the Indian Ocean

Q-mode cluster analysis of thirty species of foraminifera from six sandy beaches of India reveals that the East and West coasts belong to two different faunal realms. Some possible ecological factors responsible for differences in fauna are summarised.- A Note on Foraminifera from the Jurassic Rocks of Central Kutch
