The General Uniqueness Theorem and Successive Approximations

Picard's classical theorem on successive approximations to the solution of a differential equation y' = f(x, y) assumes that the function f satisfies Lipschitz's condition. In this case not only do the successive approximations converge, but the solution is unique.
