The real part, imaginary part, modulus, and conjugate of a complex number z are denoted by Re z, Im z,\z\, and z*, respectively. By a matrix A we mean an infinite complex matrix (Apq) with indices ranging over the positive integers, and we denote its conjugate transpose (or adjoint) by A*.
