Antifeminism in Bernard Shaw’s Heartbreak House

Bernard Shaw’s Heartbreak House has been studied as a dream play (Morgan), an overcrowded play (Grene), a very reactionary play (Crompton), a play about drunken skipper (Ward), a play of war (Bryden), and a play of anti-Shavian satire (Hark). But little attention has been paid to antifeminism that the play reflects. Before undertaking a study of the play, it will be worthwhile to study the concept of antifeminism.
