Human Concerns in Ch. Narendra’s NAOSUM (The Cradle)

ChongthamNarendraSingh, (1953-) is a columnist of Law of the State of Manipur since early times. He is not only a poet but also a short story writer and seven short story books are to his credit. Besides his achievements, he also has been experiencing the writer’s capability of translating in English to Manipuri and vice-versa. One more outstanding feature of this writer is his translated work not only from Hindi to Manipuri but also from Bengali to Manipuri. In spite of taking the role of a resource person in a number of legal awareness campaigns, he is also an active participant in the movement for propagating the idea of legal aid to the poor.He also wrote a novel called NAOSUM (The Cradle) that was published in the year 1985 and reprinted in the year 2007. In many of his writings, he is concerned with the societal happenings and writes of human beings. The present article is regarding human concerns in the said novel NAOSUM (The Cradle).
