Genus Pronephrium Presl in India

In the present communication four new combinations of Abacopteris species under the name Pronephrium are proposed as the generic name Abacopteris Fee has been antedated by Pronephrium Presl (Holttum, 1971 ; Holttum and Chandra, 1971). The morphology of sporophyte and gametophyte of five Indian species of Pronephrium viz. P. lakhimpurense, P. nudatum, P. penangianum, P. stenopodum and P. triphyllum is also described.
