Need-based rural innovation or grassroots innovation can augment the technology adoption rate in agriculture. It applies to the plantation sector that also plays a vital role in the Indian economy. However, understanding the innovation under the organisational framework is the key to providing an appropriate roadmap for technology espousal. The study oversees the overall organisational approaches pattern, critically views for their relevance in the plantation sector and investigates how they can be measured. In strengthening the conceptual framework, it is found that majority of the studies point to the fact that innovation attributes and new technologies espousal are interrelated and play a key role in increasing the production and quality of plantation crops.Keywords
