“A Study of Nature and Prevalence of Mobbing Amongst Teachers in Higher Education in Pune”

The purpose of the study was to understand the prevalence and nature of mobbing amongst teachers in higher education. Area was Pune. Simple Descriptive Statistics was used. Online survey was conducted with the survey monkey. sample size was 50. Study found that 45% (21) for sample size of 50 directly experienced mobbing. 70%(35) were affected. There are supports and participants of mobbing. Target was manipulated so the he does not notice aggressive intent of the acts. Study found that Mobbing affects negatively teaching performance, team work and general work life of targets. Administrative measures can be developed in the light of new understanding for current and future challenges. Targeted Teachers can manage stress and make better work and career choices. New understanding with further studies will provide solid ground for policy work of Government bodies. Colleagues and families of target can develop symphatic approach toward target.
