Characterization of Nickel-Based ODS Alloy

The present work aims at the synthesis of Ni-ODS alloy by powder metallurgy route and employing a new processing technique namely spark plasma sintering. The mechanically alloyed powders are compacted at different temperatures at relatively shorter sintering times to arrive at 97% density. The compacted samples were investigated using SEM/EDS and TEM showing nanograins which significantly increase the strength and hardness when compared to micrograined materials. The work involves a detailed and thorough characterization of the synthesized alloy.
