The Internationol standard ISO/IEC 17025:2005 tells about one and only one thing i.e. Competence of testing and calibration laboratories. Demonstrated conformance to ISO/IEC 17025:2005 is a demonstration of such competence. The demonstration of conformance shows that the laboratory has the people, with the skills and knowledge, the environment with the facilities and equipment, the quality control and the procedures that are required to produce valid and reliable measurement results. Thus assuring quality of the measurement results is the main objective behind the principles of the ISO/IEC 17025. The validity, reliability and best calibration & measurement capability are the main factors which indicate the degree of quality of the measurement results of a testing or calibration laboratory. Necessary guidelines for achieving quality assurance and producing best calibration and measurement results in mass measurement have been outlined in this paper.
