Effects of Welding Variables on Mechanical Properties of FE410WB Steel in SAW
Subscribe/Renew Journal
Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) is a process in which the heat for welding is supplied by an arc (or arcs) developed between a bare metal (or electrodes) and a workpiece. In the present research paper investigation, variation of the mechanical properties by changing the welding parameters in submerged arc welding (SAW) process is highlighted and the probable reasons have been listed. The results help to understand that how each welding variable influences the mechanical properties of the welded specimen. The major welding variables identified are: welding current, welding arc voltage and welding speed. The effect of these welding variables have been seen on on various mechanical properties namely yield stress, ultimate tensile stress, percentage elongation, hardness, ductility and soundness of the weld by conducting tensile test, hardness test and guided bend test (face & ischolar_main) on square butt welded and v-groove welded specimen of the same thickness.
