Automobile and automobile ancillary companies have asked the Union Government to set up three special economic zones (SEZs) in the three automobile hubs of Delhi, Bangalore, and Pune. Auto companies are facing increasing competition from cheap imports from Thailand and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations region under the proposed free trade agreement.
