Practically all patent laws allow that information contained in a patent document and the invention claimed therein can be used for research purposes without any fear of causing an infringement. The doctrine known as "experimental use exception" is well accepted in most countries for reasons that experimental use of a patent will help in removing uncertainties in the field of research or providing new insights into the subject matter of the invention.
