Several government welfare schemes in the recent decades are centered around the idea of financial inclusion that intents to help the deprived sections of the society, to alleviate their economic sufferings and to bring them into the mainstream of economic development. Banks have been primarily engaged in the implementation process, but they face certain operational difficulties. Based on secondary information, this paper attempts to discuss several digitalisation efforts taken by government, and how well they contribute to the achievement of the goal of financial inclusion and the challenges those remain therein.
