The term "Big Data" refers to the data which is really "Big" in size. In today's world, data Is generating each and every second with very high pace that makes the traditional software incapable to manage such data as it is both huge in capacity and generate at fast speed. Hadoop is an open standard architecture that is actually a platform for handling this huge data. It contains HDFS for saving this bulk amount of data and MapReduce to deal with the speed of the data. One of the world's largest social networking site facebook's like button is clicked 2.7 billion times a day across the world generating ample amount of data within small period of time. This data can be handled with the big data concepts.
