Abstract

Remote sensing is a multi-disciplinary activity which deals with the inventory, monitoring and assessment of natural resources through the analysis of data obtained by observations from a remote platform. It is the science/technology of making inferences about material objects from measurements made at a distance without coming into physical contact with the object under study. When viewed in this context, remote sensing covers various disciplines from astronomy to laboratory testing of materials.

Abstract

Environmental pollution is the talk of the day at each and every corner of the world today. Both the developed and the developing or under - developed nations are facing serious problems due to pollution caused by the human civilisa tion as well as by nature herself! Uncontrolled pollution is posing a great threat towards the ecological system of living organisms.
