The genus Agriocnemis Selys, 1869 consists of some of the smallest odonates in the world distributed throughout the tropical zones of Africa to Australia and Oceania. The genus is essentially an Oriental one, with bulk of the species coming from southern Asia. Currently, there are 42 species recognized under this genus (Schorr & Paulson, 2014).
