Mahua (Maduca indica) is one of the most important forest trees widely distributed in India, belonging to family Sapotaceae. It is a tropical tree found largely in Central and North Indian plains forests. It is fast growing tree attains about 20 meters in height, possesses evergreen or semi-evergreen foliage.
