Sea chubs belonging to the family Kyphosidae generally inhabit rocky zones and coral reefs of tropical and temperate marine waters worldwide (Sakai and Nakabo, 1995). There are six sub-families, sixteen genera and about 45 species belonging to the family Kyphosidae (Nelson, 2006).

Abstract
