A new species Clistopyga ghatensis sp. nov. is described from the Western Ghats. C. ghatensis sp. nov. differs from the only other known Indian species C. sziladyi Kiss in having wrinkles on propodeum and discoidella of hind wing absent. C. ghatensis sp. nov. differs from C. longifemoralis Varga and Reshchikov from Thailand in having coarsely punctate face and hind femur as long as hind tibia. A key to Oriental species is provided.
