Calibration is required time to time for maintaining the accuracy of the instrument. Thermostat is one the device which is used to maintain the temperature. Calibration is done by using the thermometer as a standard device. Due to external effect the accuracy of the thermostat varies up to 5 degree to 8 degree. And the experimental setup contains a waterbath. And after the calibration the output result comes to calibrate the thermostat to 5degree.Keywords

An alternative method is used for determining the apparent viscosity of fluidized bed. For determining the apparent viscosity, the bed should be in a fluidized state therefore the knowledge of minimum fluidizing velocity is required. The solid particle that are used for bed material are Green pea (ρ=1428.57 kg/m3), coal (ρ=1538.46 kg/m3) and sand ((ρ= 2666.7 kg/m3).Air is used to fluidize the fixed bed. Before performing the experiment material have been crushed and sieved into three different sizes i.e. 2 mm, 6mm, and 8mm. The experiments are conducted in an acrylic pipe of 4 cm internal diameter having length of pipe is 100 cm. The experiments have been done for different static packed bed height 4cm. 6cm, 8cm, 10cm. During investigation apparent viscosity of fluidized bed in dense phase is determined, this is helpful for knowing the fluidity of the fluidized bed. Apparent viscosity of fluidized is determined by measuring the velocity of the thin strip inside the fluidized bed and weight required for that velocity is known. The apparent viscosity is determined for green pea (ρ=1428.57 kg/m3), coal (ρ=1538.46 kg/m3) and sand (ρ= 2666.7 kg/m3) for three different size i.e. 2 mm, 6mm, 8mm and varying the static packed bed height (4cm. 6cm, 8cm, 10cm,) during fluidized bed .It is found that apparent viscosity increases with increasing the density of the particle and size of the particle and apparent viscosity is independent of static bed heightKeywords

Petroleum products such as petrol and diesels are being used as a fuel to the running of Internal Combustion Engines. Day by day number of automobiles is increasing because of urbanization and hence demands for the petroleum products also; as a result its rate of consumption is increasing from year to year. If the trend will continue the whole world may suffer from shortage of petroleum products. Therefore it is necessary to find new alternative fuels by those the same IC engine could work. As we know so far alternative fuel based engines are giving lower efficiency as compared to conventional petroleum based fuel so to reduce the fuel consumption and at the same time to improve the performance of IC engine; it is necessary to find out some additives to mix it with the mixture of petroleum product and alternative fuel and one can formulate a new fuel.
Bio-origin fuels have been found as a possible alternative energy source to fulfill the above demand in automobile sector. Using biodiesel as a fuel results in less pollution to environment according to different researches, but it is unable to give same brake power or thermal efficiency what we get with pure petroleum products. So the focus of study is given to examine the improvement of the performance of CI engine using diesel and bio-diesel by adding nano-aluminum oxide (n-Al2O3) as an additive. Nano-Al2O3 have better combustion characteristics and enhanced surface area to volume ratio which results in better oxidation of the fuel mixture and hence enhances the combustion efficiency of the test fuel.
