In this study, in vitro activity of were conducted to determine the possible anthelmintic activity of different solvent extracts like aqueous extract of leaves of cajanus cajan Linn, methanolic extract of leaves of vitex negundo Linn, Ethanolic extract of bark of Euphorbia tirucalli Linn and ethyl acetate extract of leaves of synadiium grantii Linn, methanolic extract of leaves of Euphorbia nerrifolia Linn against Indian worm Pheretima posthuma. With regard to effect of extract of Euphorbia tirucalli Linn, Euphorbia nerrifolia Linn, cajanus cajan Linn showed significant action on earthworm, vitex negundo Linn showed moderate activity. All the extracts were found not only to paralyse (vermifuse) but also death (vermicidal) except ethyl acetate extract of synadiumm graantii.
