Background: Over all, India reported 418 accidental deaths a day in 2009 an increased by 7.3 % compared to 2008 as per National Crime Records Bureau's annual report of deaths and suicides across the country. Objective: To assesstime taken from accident to discharge from the hospital. Study Design: Cross sectional Setting: Indoor Orthopedic and ward of a tertiary hospital. Sample Size: Thirty patients of both sexes of the fracture of lower femur (supracondyler and intercondyler) admitted in a tertiary hospital. Statistical Analysis: Simple proportion. Findings: 36.66% of patients were operated on or before five days of accident, only 13.33% patients were operated after two weeks this may because of the associated injury or medical complications like diabetes and/or hypertension, 50% of the patients discharge from the hospital on or before seven days of the operation, only 6.7% patients took more than 35 days in their discharge. Conclusion: there is an urgent need to conduct Continuous Medical Education (C.M.E) all concerned on "rational use of drugs "to put a full stop on development of resistance against the drugs otherwise patients have to suffer a lot and the treatment will be beyond the reach of the most of the patients which ultimately harm all concerned irrespective of caste, creed, colour, religion, profession rich or poor.Keywords

BACKGROUND: The knee has become the most vulnerable of all joints since man has taken to traveling at high speeds in a squatting position with the leading edge composed of flexed hind limbs. These fracture have assumed importance for continuing controversies regarding their management. These fractures are considered to pose difficult problems for their management because of their malalignment, incongruity and insatability. The aim of treatment in all cases is one to obtain stable, mobile and painless joint.OBJECTIVE: To assess the functional results of the fractures of lower femur fractured treated by 95° Angle Blade Plate fixation.
MATERIAL and METHOD: This is an experimental study was carried out in a Medical College Hospital. A total of 17 patients were taken as sample and treated by Angle Blade Plate fixation. Stastical Analysis: Simple proportion and ratio.
FINDINGS and INTERPRETATION: On analysis it was found excellent results in 82.35% cases and satisfactory in 11.76%. There was unsatisfactory results in 05.88% cases.The results of the present study were more or less in accordance of the findings of other studies conducted throughout globe by different authors.

Back ground: Cancer incidentally, is the biggest killer in India, after heart disease and it is estimated that there are 1.5 - 2 million cases at any given point in time.
Objective: To document the diagnostic accuracy of fine needle aspiration and imprint cytodiagnosis in breast lumps.
Material and methods: Nineteen patients attending Surgical O.P.D. of a tertiary hospital were included in the study.
Statistical Analysis: Expressed in simple terms of proportion.
Findings: 84.21 and 94.73 percent were the accuracy rate of FNAC and Imprint cytodiagnosis respectively. There were 10.52 and 5.26 percent false negative and 5.2 and zero percent false positive rates were recorded through FNAC and Imprint cytodiagnosis respectively.
Conclusion: It was concluded that F.N.A.C. and Imprint cytodiagnosis are valuable tools in the management of suspected malignancy and should be recommended as a routine practice.

Objective: To evaluate the role of Fine needle Aspiration Cytology and Imprint Cytodiagnosis in the diagnosis of Lymphadenopathy.
Materials and Methods: Eighteen patients having lumps as a clinical diagnosis, attended Surgical outdoor of a hospital attached to a medical college were included in the study. Lumps were subjected to fine needle aspiration cytology, excision then imprint smears, specimen thus obtained subjected to histological examination.
Statistical analysis: were expressed in terms of simple proportion
Findings: 94.44% and 5.55% accuracy and false negativity rate respectively was noted in both F.N.A.C. and Imprint cytodiagnosis, similarly false positivity rate was zero.
Conclusion: Fine needle aspiration cytology and imprint, both are simple, safe, reliable, easily learnt techniques and they save a lot of time, money, hospital beds stay and above all anxiety to the patient.

Background : Wound healing continues to attract great attention of clinical and experimental investigators. There are ample evidence of those unfading interest in the innumerable review that keep coming up in the literature. Aims and objective to evaluate the effectiveness of Haemocoagulase in wound healing processes and make some recommendations if any?
Material and Methods : There were fifty patients admitted for various ailments had to undergo surgical procedures. Haemocoagulase was used for enhancing the wound healing.
Results : There were 08.33% cases where gapping was noted when Haemocoagulase was instilled S/C and in 20.00% when administered I/M. Gapping was lowest i.e. only in 06.25% cases in combined sites. There was no discharge in all the three levels of instillation. It proved that Haemocoagulase when administered in combined sites i.e. I/M + S/C. it is more useful in comparison to alone i.e. either S/C or I/M.

BACKGROUND: Wound Healing represents a highly dynamic integrated series of cellular physiologic and biochemical events, which occur exclusively in whole organisms. Clinically wound healing differ in simple closed wounds and open wounds. "All Real Surgeons Have Been Interested In Wound Repair".- Whipple's Dictum
AIMS and OBJECTIVE: To know the efficiency of Feracrylum and Haemocoagulase in wound healing. Design of study : On hospital based prospective study.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: One hundred cases divided into two groups. Each group consists of 50 patients and one group instilled locally (wound) with one percent feracrylum while the other group haemocoagulase and results were interpretated on discharge.
RESULTS: Majority of wound healed by 14th day. Discharge from wounds were noticed in a few cases in early post operative period. Both Feracrylum and Haemocoagulase promotes post operative wound healing by creating adverse atmosphere for infection.
