In this study we have validated the bactericidal ability of silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) bacterial infections in humans to restrain Vibriosis caused by the fish pathogen Vibrio anguillarum. The nanoparticles were synthesized chemically and characterized by UV-visible spectroscopy (UV-vis), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infra-red spectroscopy (FT-IR) and Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM). UV-vis analysis proved the wavelength of the sample to be 418- 420nm, resembling the surface resonance peak specific for Ag NPs. SEM results revealed that the particles were in the size range of 20nm. The results indicated that Ag NPs possessed antibacterial activity against fish pathogen V. anguillarum. Destruction of bacterial cell was observed in Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) between different time periods after bacterial and nanoparticle interaction. Thus Ag NPs synthesized chemically can be effectively used as an antibacterial agent in treating fish diseases.Keywords
