Internal pressure and free volume are the thermo dynamical parameters which explain the molecular interaction in solutions. The advantage of using internal pressure is that, it is a quantitatively measurable parameter of any condensed system and plays a dominant role in determining the transport properties and also that it can be easily estimated using ultrasonic velocity. In the present study, the ultrasonic velocity, density and viscosity measurements have been made for the temperatures 35°C to 55°C and at different concentrations of poly (Vinyl Acetate) in DMSO. Internal pressure and free volume have been computed and the relationship between them is established. The nature of polymer - solvent interaction and the effect of temperature and concentration on the molecular interaction are studied.
