Magnetoultrasonics for the Measurement of Concentrations of Electrolytic Solutions
Magnetoultrasonic waves are generated as a combination of electromagnetic and ultrasonic vibrations from piezoelectric crystals by the application of an alternating voltage from a resonant frequency oscillator in the presence of a magnetic field. Interaction between magnetoultrasonic wave with electrolytic solutions at different concentrations are investigated theoretically and analytically. The magnetic part of the radiation are obtained . For the measurement of concentration of electrolytic solutions absorbance is measured by using Beer-Lambert law. The intensities of magnetoultrasonic wave incident and transmitted before and after fixed thicknesses of the solution are calculated. A plot of absorbance against thickness shows that Beer-Lambert law holds and these relations are used for the measurement of unknown concentration of electrolytic solutions. The feasibility to carry out experiment with magnetoultrasonic wave is also established.
