Ultrasonic velocity, density and viscosity of 2-hydroxy-5-chloroacetophenone in N, N-dimethylformamide have been measured at varying temperatures. From these experimental data, various parameters like apparent with apparent molar volume (VΦ) and apparent molar adiabatic compressibility (Ks,Φ), were computed using density data with their limiting values and further acoustical parameters have been calculated. These parameters, were used to discuss interactions between the ketonic (>CO) group and DMF molecule. Viscosity data have been analyzed in the light of Jones-Dole equation and the constants A and B have been estimated. The results are interpreted to gain insight in to the changes in molecular association equilibria and structural effects in these systems. Keywords
