To understand the intermolecular interactions in organic liquids and liquid mixtures, the study of ultrasonic and thermodynamic parameters are of due importance. Ultrasonic velocity, density and viscosity have been measured experimentally in the two binary mixtures of ethanol and isopropyl alcohol with benzene at different temperature over the entire composition range. The thermodynamic and other allied parameters like free length, internal pressure, enthalpy etc., have been computed and the variation of the excess parameters like excess free volume, excess internal pressure, excess enthalpy, etc., is analyzed in the light of intermolecular interactions in the mixtures. The variation of these parameters as a function of solvent composition has been discussed from the view point of intermolecular interactions present between the unlike molecules. In both the mixtures intermolecular interactions between the constituent molecules are suggested.Keywords

The molecular properties like transmission of sound in nanofluids undergo changes in highly associated systems and dependent on the cohesive properties of liquids. In the present investigation an attempt is made to calculate the ultrasonic velocity and density of the prepared nanoparticles at different weight percentage with the base fluid Poly Vinyl Alcohol (PVA). Copper oxide (CuO) nanofluid was synthesized by transforming an unstable Cu(OH)2 precursor to CuO in PVA under an ultrasonication. The result shows that CuO-PVA nanofluid can be synthesized using this method. The obtained dried precursor was annealed at 300°C. The annealed sample and the dried precursor were sonicated with an aqueous solution of PVA having concentration 4wt%. For comparison, the synthesized nanoparticles are characterized by X-Ray powder Diffractometry (XRD), Fourier Transform InfraRed Spectroscopy (FTIR), Diffuse Reflectance Spectroscopy (DRS) and analyzed. After ultrasonication UV-Visible Spectroscopy (UV-Vis), Ultrasonic velocity, density and adiabatic compressibility were analyzed and the results were discussed. There is a good agreement between the data produced by ultrasonic spectroscopy and other measurements.Keywords

Ultrasonic Velocity Measurements Provide An Important Tool To Study The Liquid State. Such Studies Have Been Used To Understand Intra And Intermolecular Interactions In Pure Liquids, Aqueous Solutions And Binary Mixtures. Detailed Information About The Nature Of Molecular Interactions Can Be Obtained From Various Ultrasonic Parameter Computed. It Has Inspired Many Workers And Extensive Investigations Have Been Carried Out In Both Binary And Ternary Liquid Mixtures Using Various Methods. Acoustic Methods Have Been Applied To Estimate The Effective Debye Temperature (θd) Of Liquid Mixtures (binary). The Theoretical Approach Has Been Completely Modified And A New Approach Has Been Suggested. Binary Liquid Mixtures Have Been Undertaken For Computing The Values Of Effective Debye Temperature Using The Present Approach. There Was A Good Agreement With The Theoretical Values Compared With Standard Findings. The Necessary Experimental Data Needed Have Been Taken From Literature.Keywords

The ultrasonic velocity, density and viscosity of binary liquid mixtures of lactic acid with methanol, 1-propanol and 2- propanol of various compositions at 308 K, 313 K, 318 K and 323 K were determined. These experimental data have been used to estimate the thermodynamic parameters such as adiabatic compressibility (β),free length (L f ), free volume (V f ), internal pressure (π i )and enthalpy (H). The excess values of the above parameters like excess adiabatic compressibility, excess free length, excess free volume, excess internal pressure and excess enthalpy are also evaluated in order to dispute the nature of molecular interactions present among the constituent molecules of binary liquid mixture systems.Keywords
