Abstract

The density, viscosity and ultrasonic velocity have been measured for binary mixture of gallic acid with ethanol and acetone of fixed equal volumes of the components at temperatures of 298 K. The experimental data have been used to calculate some acoustic and thermodynamic parameters like adiabatic compressibility, free length, acoustic impedance, relaxation time and internal pressure. From the properties of the acoustical parameters, the nature and the strength of interactions in these binary systems are discussed. Increase in velocity and decrease in adiabatic compressibility shows strong association and interaction in the constituents' molecules. Some possible reasons on the increase or decrease of acoustic and thermodynamic parameters with temperature change are presented.
