The Contemporary Relevance of the Arthashastra for the Indian Economy

An attempt has been made in this paper by the author to establish a case for the relevance of the much neglected and our very own economics bible, namely the Arthasastra, authored by the genius Kautilya in the fourth century B.C. Struggling Indian economy will benefit much from the invaluable guidance provided in this ancient text regarding the efficient and effective management of the economy, taking into account her socio-politico-cultural context.
