An Intelligent Method to Estimate the Flashover of High Voltage Insulators

In this work we tried to contribute in solving the problem of flashover in polluted high voltage insulators. For this purpose, metaheuristic methods, namely fireflies algorithm, have been used to solve the Obenaus equation which is practically the only mathematical model that simulates this phenomenon. The results obtained demonstrate the high precision of the approach used.

Abstract
