Wicking behaviour of bamboo/polyester blended yarns
A series of weft-knitted fabrics has been produced from bamboo/polyester and bamboo/cotton blende yarn with a view to study their wicking properties. It is found that the wickability of the blended yarn consisting of 67 % bamboo and 33 % polyester is comparatively good. Twist has a significant effect on wickability in that higher twist had led to lower wickability. Bamboo/polyester consisting of 67/33 proportion displays higher wickabilitv while 100 % polyester exhibit lower wickability.
