the herbal medicinal plant, Concolvulus pluricaulis(CP): a rasayana drug has been primarily advocated for use in mental stimulation and rejuvenation therapy. In ancient systems of Indian medicine, Ayurveda, the plant is also known as Shankhpushpi and has been shown to act as a prominent memory improving drug. The aim of the present study was to explore the effect of CP on learning and memory m Wistar albino rats. Rats were divided into three groups (control & experimental), doses (100 & 200 mg/kg) of aqueous extract of CP was administered orally for four successive weeks for the experimental group. The aqueous extracts were evaluated for their effect on memory m rats usmgtheHebbWiUiamsmaze tests which served as the exteroceptive behavioral model. These findings suggest that there is a significant effect of CP on the memory enhancement. CP appears to be a promising drug for improving memory m the management of impaired learning, dementia, Alzheimer's disease, and other neurodegenerative disorders.
