Mindfulness is an attribute of consciousness. It plays a significant role in promoting well-being. Researchers have found that enhancement of mindfulness through teaming facilitates a variety of well-being outcomes. Mindfulness incorporates both aspects of consciousness, i.e., attention and awareness. Attention and awareness are important characteristics of normal functioning. Mindfulness can be considered as enhanced attention to and awareness of present experience. This paper attempts to define the concept of mindfulness and its relation to similar psychological constructs.
