Life Satisfaction among HIV Infected Persons

HIV is a burning issue in Health Research. The increasing rate of HIV infection affect people in countless ways and nearly every aspect of their lives. The social stigma that surrounds HIV may have adverse repercussions not only for individuals but also for their family and thus affecting their life satisfaction. The aim of this research was to study the effect of HIV infection and gender on life satisfaction. The locale was cofined to Jaipur. The sample consisted of 20 subjects in which were 10 HIV Infected (5 Male and 5 Female) and 10 were normal (5 Males and 5 Females) 2×2 factroial design was used. Life satisfaction scale by Alam and Srivastana (1983) was used to collect data. Data was analyzed by using Analysis of Variance. Results showed that Life satisfaction level of HIV infected person were lower that normal individuals. No effect of gender difference on life satisfaction was found. There was no interaction effect of HIV infection and gender on life satisfaction .
