The present study makes an attempt to assess the extent of anxiety and depression among diabetic patients. It was conjectured that Type 1 and Type 2 diabetic patients do not differ significantly on anxiety and depression. It was also hypothesized that male and female diabetic patients do not differ significantly on anxiety and depression. The sample comprised of 156 diabetic patients. Data was obtained using Beck's Anxiety Inventory (BAI) and Becks Depression Inventory Second edition (BDI-11). Findings revealed a significant difference in the extent of depression between Type-1 and Type-2 diabetic patients with Type-1 patients reporting higher depression than Type-2 patients. Significant gender differences were noticed with male patients indicating higher anxiety and depression than female patients.
