Abstract

Male differences among the normal and HIV-infected on the sub-scales of somatic complaints, anxiety, and anxiety related disorders were assesses in the randomly selected from the Manipur Population. Sample includes fifty for normal and fifty from HIV-infected patients. HIV-infected sample are those of drug abuse (heroin no. IV) and syringe sharing. Data are collected with the help of NGOs people working for the HIV-infected patients. For normal sample, data are collected from the Kakching area, Manipur. All the sub-scales i.e., conversion, somatization, health concerns, cognitive, affective, physiological, obsessive-compulsive, phobias and traumatic concerns are measured by Morey's (1991) Personality Assessment Inventory. Each sub-scales consist of eight items each (total items are seventy two). Results of the present study indicates significant differences on the conversion, somatization, health concerns, cognitive, affective, physiological, phobias, and traumatic stress. It further suggests that obsessive-compulsive has non-significant differences among the Normal and HIV-infected patients.

Abstract

In the present study an attempt has been made to investigate the personality profiles of drug-addicts and non-addicts. The main research objective is "to find out the personality traits of drug addicts and non-addicts of Mizo populations." For this study, the investigator randomly selected 50 Drug-addicts(male) and 50 non-addicts(male) ranging the age level of 25-45 yrs from the Mizo-population. All the selected samples were administered 16 PF (form E) individually. The results obtained were analyzed with the help of t-test which revealed significant differences between drug-addicts and normal on personality factors except A, F, I, L, M, N. The mean values indicated that drug abusers are capable of concrete thinking, whereas normal are better at abstract thinking. Drug users are found to be affected by feelings but normal in contrast are emotionally stable. Drug abusers are lacking rules, self indulgent, whereas normal are conforming, moralistic, staid and rule bound. Drug abusers usually have inferiority feelings, dislike occupations with personal contacts, and are not given to keeping in contact with all that is going on around them. Drug abusers are apprehensive whereas the normal are self-assured. Drug abusers are experimenting whereas normal are conservative. The mean value of drug abusers are self sufficient whereas the normal are group-oriented. The drug abusers are undisciplined self-conflict whereas normal are following self-image. In conclusion the investigator suggested to do further study on the intervention n prevention strategy level.

Abstract

The main purpose of the current study is to examine the body about the differences between the normal and HIV infected patients male as measured by Morey's (1991) personality assessment inventory on the sub-scales of Mania, Paranoia, and schizophrenia. The samples are included fifty normal people and fifty HIV-infected patients; are randomly selected from the Manipur. HIV-infected sample are those drug abuse (Heroin No. IV) and syringe sharing. Data are collected with the help of NGOs people working for the HIV-infected patients. For normal sample, data are collected from Kakching area, Manipur. All the selected subscales are activity level, grandiosity, irritability, resentment, hypervigilance, persecution, psychotic experiences, social detachment and thought disorder. Each Items consists of eight items. It means the total items is seventy two. The present study is analyzed by finding out mean, standard deviation, t-test and sig.level(two-tailed) for both normal and HIV-infected patients. Results of the present study shows that the mean and standard deviation of grandiosity, resentment are more similar for both the samples. It means that they are slight non-significant differences between the both samples. But the findings also show that activity level, irritability, hypervigilance, persecution, psychotic experiences, social detachment, and thought disorder have significance differences for both the samples. It means that HIV-infected have significance difference on these above variables as compared to the Normal people.

Abstract

This paper is about the relation between dream and workplace conflictual situation based on a narrative case study report .The question comes to the investigator's mind, “are they related term?” The investigator strongly agree about the relation between these two terms. In this narrative case, how the bi-cluster groups in the workplace try to keep the case narrative person in a stressful situation that makes the person in a state of insecurity feelings that brought the person under the dream, saying, “do not go that place”… “call her back from that place”. (case narrative dead brother said in the dream).The investigator is trying to convince that under the tense/stressful situation/unconscious pre-plan etc, the dreamer has more terrific dream and on the other hand under the calm situation, the dreamer has no terrific dream. The investigator tries to bring the sources of dream, theory of dream as developed by investigator with regard to the workplace conflictual situation and how to relate dream to one's waking life. In the investigator's term dream is some sort of activities which can be shown to the dreamer with some form of symbols that are difficult to decipher but it can give meaningful interpersonal conflictual situation or one's form of tension situation if one gets the meaning of that symbol. It gives recall experiences when one awakes from the sleep. Sometimes you may find very strange situation after having been recalled your dream state. You may forget your dream also. In concluding part, the investigator said that dream is a journey like an explorer tries to find out new things in an unknown place. In doing so, hard work, determination, patience, individual's ideas, coordination etc are needed. Here again the investigator points out that dream relates to past events (based on workplace) that leads to present story and again it predicts one's future life.

Abstract

This paper is about the study of personality traits, anxiety, depression, aggression, stress, dominance, warmth of Meitei community in Manipur. The main objective of this study is “to find out the correlation of personality traits i.e., neuroticism, extraversion, openness, conscientiousness, agreeableness of Meitei community; to find the correlation of personality and measures of the personality assessment inventory, i.e., Anxiety, depression, aggression, stress, dominance and warmth; to find out the correlation of anxiety, depression, aggression, stress, dominance and warmth of the Meitei community; to find out the factor structure of all the variables, neuroticism, extraversion, openness, conscientiousness, agreeableness, anxiety, depression, aggression, stress, dominance, warmth of Meitei community. Trying to fullfill these objectives, the investigator randomly selected 140 participants from the normal population in Meitei community ranging age level of 20-60 yrs. Results are evaluated by mean, median, and factor analysis to find out the factor structure for the participants. For 140 subjects the correlation coefficients of .15 and .20 are significant at .05 and .01 levels of significance respectively. From the result, In general, the intercorrelations among five measures of personality are low ranging between -0.6 to.60. out of 10 intercorrelation, 9 correlations are significant at or beyond .05 level. In general the correlations between five measures of personality and 6 measures of personality assessment inventory i.e., anxiety, depression, aggression, stress, dominance,and warmth are low ranging from -.37 to .39. Out of the 30 correlations, only 19 correlations are significant at or above .05 level of significance. In general, the intercorrelations among 6 measures of anxiety, depression, aggression, stress, dominance and warmth variables are low ranging between -.22 to .68. out of 15 intercorrelations, 8 correlations are significant at or above .05 level. In this study, the investigator found 4 factors; namely general factor of personality (factor-I); neurotic factor (factor-II); well-organized factor (factor-III); and autonomous factor(Factor-IV).
