Abstract

Background/Objectives: In the current work, a new approach named as Secure Data dissemination scheme for Vehicular Relay Network based Predictive Clustering has been accomplished by incorporating fuzzy decision system and secure vehicle authentication mechanism to improve our existing solution Energy Efficient Predictive Clustering approach. Methods/Statistical Analysis: In past several years, tremendous growth has been observed in vehicular network capabilities for information processing, which makes it an enthralling research area. Integration of vehicular network with next generation of wireless communication technologies provides increased comfort and safety for passengers in the vehicle. The network topology of vehicular networks is highly dynamic in nature that results in high overhead because of the missing central control and increased network traffic. However, to maintain quality of service without compromising any critical parameters is a challenging task in the vehicular networks. Hence, there is a requirement of an intelligent data dissemination technique that minimizes the complexity of the network by providing a backbone architecture that collects the node into multiple clusters. Findings: The performance evaluation of the introduced scheme is estimated using pervasive simulations confirm the effectiveness of the proposed scheme in terms of improved cluster stability and longer cluster head lifetime that decrease the overhead while also demonstrating improved reliability. Application/ Improvements: This scheme helps in improving the data deamination and security in the vehicular relay network that can be beneficial for those real time applications where data delivered on time is essential like emergency alerts, critical passenger information and traffic information.

Abstract

Breast pain due to nipple sore is one of the most common complaints that health care provider encounters in breast feeding mothers. The causes of nipple sores are mainly due to improper techniques of breast feeding, poor breast hygiene and timing of breast feeding. The aim of the study is to evaluate effectiveness of Planned Teaching Programme on knowledge regarding prevention of nipple sore among postnatal mothers. A pre-experimental research design with purposive sampling and one group pretest post-test was used for the study. The data was collected utilizing a structured knowledge interview. On the first day pretest was taken and Planned Teaching Programme was administered to the group. Post-testwas taken after 5 days. Data was compiled and analysed by using Range, mean, median, standard deviation, paired t test and chi square and it was presented through tables and figures. It was found that more than half i.e. 72% postnatal mothers were having average knowledge and 28% were having poor knowledge. Effectiveness of Planned Teaching Programme was evaluated and it was found effective as after this intervention none of the postnatal mother had poor knowledge score and 26% mother had good knowledge sore and 74% had average score. The calculated value of paired 't' test (19.88) is more than table value (2.01). Statistically it was found that there was an association between the educational status and knowledge of postnatal mothers.

Abstract

The present study was conducted to assess the social problems and coping strategies of senior citizens in selected rural areas of district Patiala, Punjab. A non-experimental research approach with descriptive survey design was used to collect the relevant information from 140 senior citizens at village Tarkheri Kalan. The data were collected by conducting a structured interview schedule and then compiled and analyzed by using descriptive and inferential statistics. After analysis, data were presented through tables and figures. Findings revealed that 37% of the subjects usually and 33% of the subjects sometimes feel loneliness. Whereas 39% of the subjects usually and 33% of the subjects sometime experiencing problems due to poor health and the results also shows that 38% of subjects sometime and 37% of the subjects usually economically dependent on others whereas 44% of the subjects are usually and 31% of the subjects are sometimes abused by other people. At last 45% of the subjects sometime and 22% of the subjects rarely experiencing problems related to their family and community members. Study also concluded that majority of subjects i.e. 94.3% had adaptive coping strategies and only a few percentage i.e. 5.7% of subjects had maladaptive coping strategies. The study was limited to the senior citizens staying with their family members. Similar study could be carried out on the problems of senior citizens staying in old age homes and a comparative study could be undertaken in the rural and urban areas.
