Many societies around the world have been entangled in horrifying internal and external wars that have killed millions of people. Fear and distrust are the worst kind of enemy for the development of the peaceful society, happy society and a compassionate society. Peace is not just the province of politicians and soldiers but also of ordinary people. It is not so much a peace that is kept, but a peace that is created. Education for peace could be a significant input for transformation of mind of our children. Society devoid of religious values does not provide the nourishment that can sustain a civilization that will bring out the highest qualities in people and allow them to fulfill their purpose in life. Religious teachings have fundamental role in human attitudes and contribution to human flourishing. Without talking of dogmas of any religion we can teach simply about how to be a good human being- how to develop a happier society and what is lacking in modern society with help of religious teachings. We must appreciate its search for truth and its endeavour for the uplift of masses. All Scriptures whether it is the Bible, Bhagavad-Gita, Quran or Guru Granth Sahib, teach values and attitudes applicable to all human being beautifully and aim for just and harmonious society. Despite the wonderful things mentioned in these holy Granths, we continue to remain deaf to these ideas and hence continue to deny our spirits the wisdom that is contained therein. Through this paper an attempt has been made to highlight the significance of imparting education in social, moral and spiritual values with the help of ethical teachings of great religions in order to maintain peace on this earth. Writers have also underlined some strategies to make such endeavour achievable. Keywords

In the present era challenging problems cannot be solved in a reasonable amount of time with conventional computers. While grand challenge problems can be found in many domains like, computing software changes, science applications etc. These problems often require numerous complex calculations and collaboration among people with multiple disciplines and geographic locations. Many grand challenge problems involve the analysis of very large volumes of data. Data mining, also popularly known as Knowledge Discovery in Databases (KDD) is a well established field of computer science concerned with the automated search of large volumes of data for patterns that can be considered knowledge about the data. Data Archeology offers automated discovery of previously unknown patterns as well as automated prediction of trends and behaviors; its technologies are complimentary to existing decision support tools and provide the business analyst and marketing professional with a new way of analyzing the business. After a general introduction of the knowledge discovery, this paper concludes the applications of data mining and steps, stages, techniques of knowledge discovery have been presented. Keywords

In this paper a robust technique is used for image mosaicing to reduce the computational time and increase the efficiency through modified Scale Invariant Feature Transform SIFT. Modified Scale Invariant Feature Transform algorithm is used to increase the efficiency and to reduce the computational time. In this normalized cross correlation is used to find the best possible match for the image warping. Area found by Normalized Cross Correlation is used for feature matching, through this method computational time is reduced. Two different methods are combined to get the best output. As the number of matches increased the efficiency of the algorithm also increased. The area for matching is reduced so the computational time gets reduced. The output mosaicked image is warped by the best possible matches This paper depicts the implementation of the real images click by a normal Samsung phone camera at different angles and locations. Homography is used to find the angular relation between the images. Normalized Modified SIFT algorithm is used to increase the efficiency and reduce the computational time. Mosaiced image is efficient enough as compare to SIFT algorithm. Keywords

Face recognition has received considerable attention recently, as a promising approach for security and surveillance. Face recognition have the challenges of the light illumination and variations in the poses in various fields. The main aim of this work is to find out the optimum approach which can be used against these challenges and to study various approaches. The problems comes in the various algorithms are also defined and how these problems are resolved by using the new approaches. In this paper the different types of face recognition approaches and the various performance matrices for face recognition on the basis of different parameters have been discussed. Keywords

Compression algorithms reduce the redundancy in data representation thus increasing effective data density. Data compression is a very useful technique that helps in reducing the size of text data and storing the same amount of data in relatively fewer bits resulting in reducing the data storage space, resource usage or transmission capacity. There are a number of techniques that have been used for text data compression which can be categorized as Lossy and Lossless data compression techniques. In this paper, various lossless data compression techniques have been reviewed that are in use such as Run Length Encoding, Burrows- wheeler transform, Shannon-Fano coding, Huffman coding, Arithmetic coding, Lempel-Ziv Welch and Bit-Reduction algorithm. Keywords

Proper procurement of food grains and their storage is essential for providing food security to the country and proper returns to the farmers. MARKFED and HAFED are the major procurement agencies of Punjab and Haryana. The present paper attempts to study the procurement and warehousing activities of these federations. The study is based on primary and secondary data. Tools like One-Sample Kolmogorov Smirnov Test, Reliability Analysis, Average Weighted Scores, Chi-square test, Mann Whitney Test, Kruskall-Wallis Test, exponential growth rate, coefficient of variation, mean and percentages has been used for the analysis of data. The study found that as per the opinion of employees, HAFED can be placed at higher level as compared to MARKFED in terms of procurement and warehousing activity. The federations should increase the number and improve conditions of godowns especially MARKFED, minimize the role of commission agents, bring more transparency in functioning and entail adequate support from government. Keywords

Introduction: Diabetes mellitus is one of the major world health problems of modern society. It is well recognized fact that diabetes mellitus is associated with increased morbidity and mortality. Quality of life is an important aspect in diabetes as one might predict, people with diabetes rate their health-related quality of life significantly less favorably, on average, than people without diabetes. Methods: A descriptive survey was conducted to assess the health-related quality of life among diabetic patients. A total of 100 patients having diabetes mellitus those fulfilling the inclusive criteria were selected by purposive sampling technique. Findings: The study concludes that all the study participants had good health related quality of life with the mean and SD of 130.89 ± 16.573 respectively. As per chi square test, association between health-related quality of life and type of family, occupational status and family history of diabetes mellitus found significant at level of p <0.05. Hence there is a significant relationship between health-related quality of life with type of family, occupational status and family history of diabetes mellitus. Conclusion: The study concluded that most of the subjects were having good health related quality of life. Keywords

The presence of an additional supernumerary distolingual root in the mandibular molar is termed Radix Entomolaris (RE). It is common in the mandibular first molar, but its occurrence in the mandibular second molar is scarcely reported in the literature. Two-dimensional imaging can diagnose anatomical root canal variations when taken with different horizontal angulations. With the recent innovations in three-dimensional diagnostic imaging, cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) can aid in unfolding the complexities of the root canal system. Accurate diagnosis by CBCT leads to the success of endodontic treatment. A rare case of radix entomolaris in the mandibular second molar in an Indian female is reported here with three of its CBCT findings. Imaging in all three dimensions, oblique sections and volume rendering by CBCT proved to be of additional help to understand the complex anatomy and root canal morphology of the tooth. Keywords
