Students and members of faculty of universities always show interest in UGC-NET results to assess the performance of their respective university or department candidates. But rarely do they get a structured view of the NET results in a subject of their interest. It is mostly due to the restricted access to data from UGC. In this study we have attempted to understand the distribution pattern of NET qualifiers, gender equilibrium in success and the impact of change in Paper-III to multiple choice type in Library and Information Science (LIS). The study of the NET results from nine tests (June 2010 – June 2014) shows an abrupt growth of qualifiers after the introduction of multiple choice type Paper-III. The distributions of qualifiers are wider after June 2012 but there is not much change in top contributing universities/centers to the number. Almost all states find a NET qualifier in LIS subject after June 2012. Introduction of multiple choice Paper-III sees an immediate drop in female qualifiers from ∼50% to ∼36% but later started improving. The most interesting observation of this study is the substantial increase in quality qualifiers with the introduction of multiple choice type Paper-III. The improvement in quality is evident from the increase in the average score of Paper-I (from 45.82% to 60.67%). More eligible candidates in a subject provide more choices to the experts to evaluate as per specific requirement during recruitment process. So the increase in the numbers of NET qualifiers in LIS after change to multiple choice type Paper-III is a positive happening. Keywords

MANET is a network with no fixed infrastructure. Routing is a greater challenge in these types of mobile networks due to the mobility and open media nature .The mobile ad hoc networks are more prone to security threats compared to the wired network. Therefore security needs are higher in mobile ad hoc networks compared to the traditional networks. Many types of problem are possible in mobile ad hoc networks such as selfish node problem .Selfish node is a node which can hold packet for using resources for their respective use. So for data security we want to send it through secure route, for that purpose we identify which node is cooperative and which one is selfish. Increasing of selfish node decreases the trust value of a node. If selfish node can be detected in a rout then one can abort that route and choose another safe route for data transfer. This paper analysis the selfish nodes problem in MANET with the help of network simulator and explore that the network performance is inversely proportional to no. of selfish node. After finding load on network route can be modify and network performance can be increased. Keywords

Acacia nilotica (Linn.) Willd. Ex Del., is a medicinal tree, belonging to the Leguminosae family and sub-family Mimosaceae, a moderate sized, spiny, evergreen tree found throughout India, known to be rich in phenolics, consisting of condensed tannin and phlobatannin, gallic acid, (+) catechin, (-) epigallocatechin-7-gallate, and has been used for treatment of viral (colds, bronchitis), bacterial (diarrhoea), amoeboid (dysentery), fungal, bleeding piles and leucoderma diseases. The presented review summarizes the information concerning the botany, ethnopharmacology, phytochemistry, biological activity and toxicity of the Acacia nilotica Linn. Keywords

The present paper deals with the medicinal plants used by the people for curing different skin ailments and for cosmetics. Cosmetic have become part of our routine. Their used has increased significantly in recent years however the continuous use of cosmetics over prolonged time may result into various undesirable effects, which may be serious at time. This review is an attempt to trace out the different cosmetic plants used over centuries. Keywords

Becoming a mother is an important stage in every woman's life. First time mothers in particular may feel anxious about how they are going to cope with themselves. With this aim the researcher made an attempt to assess and correlated the knowledge and anxiety on labour process. A quantitative research approach with descriptive design was adopted. The sample consists of 100 primigravida by purposive sampling technique. Structured interview schedule was used to collect the data from primigravida. The collected data were analyzed by using descriptive and inferential statistics. Study findings shows that the majority of the primigravida i.e. 43% belongs to the age group of less than 23 years, 33% of the primigravida were studied till metric class, majority (81%) of primigravida were house wives, 53% of primigravida were from the families having monthly income of less than Rs.10,000/-, 52% of primigravida were housewives, majority (59%) of the primigravida were from nuclear family and 41% of primigravida gained knowledge on labour from their family. It also shows that 53% of the primigravida had good level of knowledge, followed by 30% of them had average level of knowledge, 11% had excellent level of knowledge and only 6% of them had low level of knowledge. The study findings show that there is an association between the level of knowledge and education, occupation and source of information.
