Taxus baccata Linn.growing in Dhauladhar Range is over exploited due to excessive collection of leaves for yield of anti-carcinogenic drugs like Taxol and Baccatin etc. The restoration and restocking of this II canopy tree under Q. semecarpifolia forests can be done through raising woody stem cuttings with growth regulators in February/July as the growth of seed raised plants is extremely slow. The experiments were carried out in the natural zone at forest nursery, Bir.- Formulation and Evaluation of Transdermal Patches of Nebivolol Hydrochloride

Aim:- The present study is to formulate the matrix type transdermal patches of Nebivolol hydrochloride as a model drug with combination of HPMC K100M and ERS-100 to minimize the dose of the drug for lesser side effect.
Method:-Matrix type transdermal patches containing Nebivolol hydrochloride were prepared using two polymers by solvent evaporation technique. Aluminium foil cup method was used as a substrate. Polyethylene glycol (PEG) 400 was used as plasticizer and Dimethyl sulfoxide was used as penetration enhancer. Major
Results:-The physicochemical parameters like weight variation, thickness, folding endurance, drug content, Percentage moisture absorption and Percentage moisture loss were evaluated. All prepared formulations indicated good physical stability and no skin irritation. In-vitro drug release and drug permeation studies of formulations were performed by using Franz diffusion cells. Formulation prepared with hydrophilic polymer containing permeation enhancer showed best in-vitro skin permeation through rat skin (Wistar albino rat) as compared to all other formulations.
Conclusions:- On the basis of in vitro drug release through skin permeation performance, Formulation F1 was found to be better than other formulations and it was selected as the optimized formulation.

Advances in understanding the etiology, epidemiology and microbiology of periodontal pocket flora have revolutionised the therapeutic strategies for the management of periodontal disease progression. The rationale for use of antibiotics in periodontal therapy is based on the concept that bacteria are the primary cause of periodontal diseases and thus treatment should be directed towards controlling the bacterial flora.. The effectiveness of mechanical debridement of plaque and repeated topical and systemic administration of antibacterial agents are limited due to the lack of accessibility to periodontopathic organisms in the periodontal pocket. Systemic administration of drugs leads to therapeutic concentrations at the site of infection, but for short periods of time, forcing repeated dosing for longer periods. Local delivery of antimicrobials has been investigated for the possibility of overcoming the limitations of conventional therapy. The use of sustained release formulations to deliver antibacterials to the site of infection (periodontal pocket) has recently gained interest. This review summarises the recent developments in the field of intra-pocket drug delivery systems and identifies areas where further research may lead to a clinically effective intra-pocket delivery system.- Chronopharmaceutics:A Clinically Relevant Approach to Drug Delivery

Chronopharmaceutics covers the fundamentals of the various aspects of chronopharmaceutics in the fields of chronobiology, chronogenetics, chronophysiology, chronopathology, chronopharmacology, chronotherapeutics, chronotoxicology and chronobiotics, and chronopharmaceutical drug delivery research. It discusses different and specific controlled-release systems that are triggered by electrics, diffusion, and chemical-activation and concludes with a description of the regulatory issues along with formulation and manufacturing.Due to advances in chronobiology, chronopharmacology, and global market constraints, the traditional goal of pharmaceutics (e.g. design drug delivery systems with a constant drug release rate) is becoming obsolete. However, the major bottleneck in the development of drug delivery systems that match the circadian rhythm (chronopharmaceutical drug delivery systems: ChrDDS) may be the availability of appropriate technology. The last decade has witnessed the emergence of ChrDDS against several diseases. The increasing research interest surrounding ChrDDS may lead to the creation of a new subdiscipline in pharmaceutics known as chronopharmaceutics. This review introduces the concept of chronopharmaceutics, addresses theoretical/formal approaches to this sub-discipline, underscores potential disease-targets, revisits existing technologies and examples of ChrDDS. Future development in chronopharmaceutics may be made at the interface of other emerging disciplines such as system biology and nanomedicine. Such novel and more biological approaches to drug delivery may lead to safer and more efficient disease therapy in the future. Keywords

This paper examines the tourism practices and evaluates the possible enhancements towards a sustainable tourism in the Uttaranchal Himalaya. The modes of tourism are discussed broadly and suggestions are given appropriately for sustainable development of tourism. It reveals that the pilgrimage tourism has been practicing here for centuries. Presently, mass tourism as mountaineering, trekking, skiing and river rafting is being common. The practices of tourism have a significant impact on the economy as many of the small towns emerged as the major service provider centers and the economy of the region grew tremendously. But, at the same time, its impact fell badly on the environment and the tourist places and pilgrimages have received severe environmental implications. Kedarnath tragedy is a recent example. Data were taken from the secondary sources and references cited in text were well taken from the published materials. Keywords

The hospitality sector in India is rapidly growing and flourishing with time. It is constantly reinventing itself to compete on an international level. With the Indian economy rising, India is increasingly becoming an extremely sought after tourist and business destination. By the very nature of hospitality as a service industry, its proficient management and successful operation depend largely on the quality offered to the customers. The problem in the hospitality sector is also increasing with its expansion and the demanding customers. This growth will need to be serviced by a substantial increase in infrastructure, including air-road, rail connectivity as well as hotels and restaurants. High standards of service are particularly important in sustaining longterm growth, since success is determined not only by price competitiveness but also by the quality of the services provided. This paper elaborates the issues and constrains relating to the challenges faced by the hospitality industry and also suggested the recommendations to fill the gap. In order to do so Indian hospitality industry needs to be packaged well and one needs to move away from the discriminatory mindset that the hospitality industry has been associated with in the past. Quality in the hospitality and hospitality industry involves consistent delivery of products and guest services according to expected standards. Delivering quality service is one of the major challenges the hotels will be facing in the following years as it is an essential condition for success in the emerging, intensely competitive, global hospitality markets. Keywords

Background: Thalassemia is one of serious genetic blood disorder. To know about its suffering during or before child bearing to female will be great help to manage married life and can avoid children morbidity or disability. Objective: study aimed to now prevalence of thalassemia among reproductive age group of females.
Method: Cross-sectional research design used to follow this prevalence from September 2018 to December 2018 among reproductive age group females of central part of Gujarat. House to house survey conducted by using predesigned, validated questionnaire to collect base-line information and blood sample collected and analyzed to know presence of thalassemia. Data was analyzed by using SPSS version 20 (Trial). Proportion, chi-square statistical tests used to know finding and interpret it.
Result: The overall prevalence of thalassemia among reproductive age group female is 3.679% which is almost nearer to India’s prevalence of thalassemia.
Conclusion: Prevalence of thalassemia is higher in India especially in rural area where people having lack of knowledge about diseases.
