The views of fathers have been shown to be important determinants of infant feeding decisions, but men's perceptions of breastfeeding and formula feeding are rarely explored. Our objectives were to address this gap and examine the attitude of men towards breast feeding. The focus of this study was to assess breastfeeding attitudes among men population to provide a foundation for intervention to increase duration of exclusive breastfeeding rates.
A cross-sectional comparative study was conducted among 100 men. The population consisted of married and unmarried men in Tricity (Chandigarh, Panchkula and Mohali) enrolled through Convenience sampling technique. Likert scale was used to assess the attitude of men regarding breastfeeding. T-test was used to determine the attitude of married and unmarried men and chi-square was adopted to determine the association between attitude with selected socio demographical variables like age, marital status, family type and education status.
Results showed that Out of 100 men (50 married, 50 unmarried), majority of (65%) of men had their education qualification as graduation and majority of (85%) belongs to nuclear family. Maximum (51%) of men have their age more than 25 years. The mean score of married men regarding breastfeeding attitude is 76.26 with standard deviation 6.53, unmarried men with total mean score 76.08 with standard deviation of 7.43. Overall Majority 71% male have positive attitude towards breastfeeding and only 29% men have negative attitude towards breastfeeding. Majority of (72%) married men have positive attitude and only 14(28%) married men have negative attitude towards breastfeeding. Whereas majority (70%) unmarried men have positive attitude and only 15(30%) of unmarried men have negative attitude towards breastfeeding. Independence t test showed that there is no significant diffences between the attitude of married and unmarried men towards breastfeeding (p>.005). There was no significant association between attitude score and selected variables like marital status, age, education qualification, and type of family (p> .005).This study helps to determine what attitudes are prevailing among married and unmarried men population. And certain education interventions need to be provided to unmarried men regarding breastfeeding.

Mental illness is a global public health concern. The revolving door phenomenon was observed in association with the process of re-institutionalization of psychiatric patients. Several factors are thought to contribute to their frequent admissions. Psychiatric rehospitalization of patients imposes heavy burdens on caregivers/families. A study was conducted to explore the caregivers perceived factors associated with revolving door phenomena among patients having psychiatric illnesses. A total of 160 care givers of patients having psychiatric illnesses were selected by purposive sampling technique. A Semi structured interview schedule was developed to collect data. Findings of the study revealed that the Prevalence of revolving door phenomena was 164/1000 of population. Psychological, personal and cultural factors were explored as high contributing whereas disease related, Physiological and Mental health services related factors as low contributing factors associated with revolving door phenomena as perceived by the caregivers. Item wise analysis revealed major precipitating factors were patient’s suspiciousness , Lack of knowledge, Forget to take medicine by patients, Treatment negligence, Anxiety, Emotional disturbance, Long term treatment, Cost of treatment, Felt social isolation, Non compliance to treatment, Care giver burden, Lack of insight, Use of drug/alcohol and Cultural belief, myths. Significant associations were observed between patient’s socio-demographic characteristics and personal, psychological, sociological, economical and cultural factors. The study concluded that there were many factors found to be contributing to revolving door phenomena among patients with psychiatric illness, and also observed that many of these factors are modifiable. Keywords

Nursing profession began with a genuine desire to serve and care for others, combined with a sense of compassion and commitment. Nursing teachers play a vital role in the health care system globally. The professionalism and performance of nursing teachers, link closely to the productivity and quality of services they provide. It is important to identify factors influencing professionalism of nursing teachers if the quality of education in the organizations to be improved. A non experimental methodological study was carried out to develop professionalism assessment scale for nursing teachers. The conceptual framework used to guide this study was Healthy Work Environments for Nurses Components, Factors and Outcomes developed by Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario in 2007. Scale was prepared under five stages i;e conceptualization and item generation, preliminary evaluation, administration to development sample, analysis of scale development data and scale refinement and validation. Psychometric qualities of the scale such as validity (content, convergent, divergent and know group) and reliability (internal consistency and stability) was determined at preliminary level. After preliminary evaluation, scale was introduced to 30 nursing teachers of various nursing institutions using judgmental sampling technique. SPSS was used for statistical analysis. Factor analysis approach was used to determine construct validity of the scale. Principal component analysis (extraction method) was used to determine total variance of scale items which resulted into extraction of nine components (domains of professionalism) of scale based on Eigenvalue 1. Further Varimax with Kaiser Normalization (Rotation Method) was performed to determine scale items correlation and all 34 scale's items were positively correlated and retained in the scale (Based on factor loading of ˃0.4). Reliability (internal consistency) of scale was determined. Cronbach's Alpha is used to determine internal consistency (p=.926) where as test retest method was used to determine scale's stability (p=.89) and scale found to be reliable. Domain wise correlation were also calculated which indicates high internal consistency among all nine domains of scale. Finally scale user's norms were established. Keywords
