With the increasing urban building density, wind environment problems around the buildings become more and more serious. Wind environment not only affects human living comfort, but also closely relates to their security and health. So, it is important to study the wind environment to improve it in the building planning and design and it is also an important part of making a reasonable evaluation of wind environment in green building design. In the current study, wind tunnel test and numerical simulation of computer technology are considered as an effective means of simulation and validation of environment.Keywords

As energy consumption increases and the energy crisis gets worse, environmental pressure for efficient alternatives is growing. The advantages that the natural ventilation strategy has in reducing building energy consumption and improving the indoor environment conditions have become more obvious. Compared to mechanical ventilation or air-conditioning system, there is more potential in the natural ventilation method providing better indoor air quality, while maintaining a healthy and comfortable indoor thermal environment. Based on the principles of stack ventilation, natural ventilation is divided into wind pressure ventilation, thermal pressure ventilation, ventilation under the action of thermal pressure and wind pressure simultaneously and mechanical-assisted natural ventilation. The ventilation principles are respectively described with examples in this article.Keywords

Increasing emphasis has been placed on the concern of buildings’ effects on the wind, making it an essential aspect in considering the surrounding environment. It has a profound influence on aspects such as pedestrian’s comfort, safety, natural ventilation, and reducing building energy consumption. Outdoor wind environment is related to natural and artificial geographical features, and the wind direction, which all play an important role in the user comfort in and around a building. The prediction from the simulation of the wind environment can guide the layout of the buildings to enhance the wind environment effectively. The research looks at a block of land in the new district of Yuexi County. By using the wind environment simulation software Fluent, the research explores the prediction of wind environment for the building, as well as possible methods of analysis, designing process and the influence brought by the large-scale project. It supplies reference to enhance the wind environment of buildings in the designing process for both planners and architects to create a more enjoyable and safe building environment.Keywords
