"A complex educational strategy designed to increase organisational effectiveness and wealth through planned intervention" - Dale S. Beech
Changes occur not only in technology but also in human values, attitudes, relationships, social system, organizational climate, culture etc. The organization has to meet the challenges of these changes by enhancing the professional skills, which in turn will lead to the organizational development. In an educational organization, in order to subsist in the competitive world, one such important factor involved is modernization of library by enhancing the library professional skills by adopting suitable strategic planning, which involve the Action Research Program. Library plays a vital role in the development of college status by providing a platform to do more research work and also the Human resource development. Hence modernization of library is an essential factor in an organizational development.
This paper deals with the various skills involved in enhancing the library professionals like technical, planning, organizational, conceptual, analytical, human and administrative skills, etc. and how the modernization of library plays a vital role in uplifting the status of the college while assessment for accreditation by National Accreditation and Assessment Council.

The Schiff base 1,3-bis(2-hydroxybenzylidene)thiourea was prepared from salicylaldehyde and thiourea by condensation method using standard procedure. Analgesic and antipyretic activities 1,3-bis(2- hydroxybenzylidene)thiourea Schiff base were studied using albino rats of both the sexes. Animals were divided into three groups, each consisting of four animals. Group 1 served as control and group 2 received standard drug. Group 3 received 250 mg/kg of 1,3-bis(2-hydroxybenzylidene)thiourea . For the determination of antipyretic activity, pyrexia was induced by 20% yeast suspension. The analgesic activity was determined by tail immersion method. The results obtained showed that the Schiff base was found to exhibit analgesic, antipyretic activities. The analgesic activity of the Schiff base compared to the standard drug pentazocine was found to be higher in the first hour and then the activity decreases slowly. The reduction in the rectal temperature for this compound was observed to be less than the standard drug paracetamol. PASS prediction of 1,3-bis(2- hydroxybenzylidene)thiourea schiff base was found to exhibit Laccase inhibitor and Monophenol monooxygenase inhibitor activities greater than 90% and can also possessed other activities like Corticosteroid sidechain- isomerase inhibitor, 3-Hydroxybenzoate 4-monooxygenase inhibitor greater than 80%.Keywords

Antipyretic and anti-inflammatory activities of different extracts of Odina woodier leaves were studied by observing decrease in rectal temperature and reduction in paw edema using albino rats of both sexes. Animals were divided into ten groups, each consisting of six animals. Group 1 served as control and Group 2 received the standard drug. Group 3-10 received various extracts of Odina woodier leaves. Group 3 received ethanol extracts of 200mg/kg and Group 4 received 400mg/kg. Group 5 and Group 6 received ethyl acetate extracts of 200mg/kg and 400mg/kg respectively. Similarly Group 7 and Group 8 received chloroform extracts of 200mg/kg and 400mg/kg. Group 9 received 200mg/kg and Group 10 received 400mg/kg petroleum ether extracts of Odina woodier leaves. For the determination of antipyretic activity, pyrexia was induced by 20% yeast suspension and for anti-inflammatory activity, inflammation was induced using 1% carageenan suspension. The results showed that all the extracts were found to have both antipyretic and anti-inflammatory activities. Among these four extracts, ethanol extract of 400 mg/kg have shown same antipyretic activity after four hours of drug administration as that of the standard Paracetamol drug which caused the reduction of temperature of 1.03 and 1.02 for the extracts and Paracetamol drug . 400mg/kg of ethyl acetate extract after two hours have shown higher anti-inflammatory activity (40.43%) with a probability < 0.001 than the chosen standard drug diclofenac sodium(39.75%) available as an anti-inflammatory drug in the market. Keywords

The Schiff base 4-(4-hydroxy benzylidene amino)phenol was prepared from p-hydroxybenzaldehyde and 4-aminophenol by condensation method using standard procedure. Analgesic, antipyretic and CNS activities of 4-(4- hydroxy benzylidene amino) phenol Schiff base were studied using albino rats of both the sexes. Animals were divided into three groups, each consisting of four animals. Group 1 served as control and group 2 received standard drug. Group 3 received 250 mg/kg of 4-(4-hydroxy benzylidene amino) phenol. For the determination of antipyretic activity, pyrexia was induced by 20% yeast suspension. The analgesic activity was determined by tail immersion method. CNS depressant activity of the compound was measured by placing the rat individually in the actophotometer for 10 min. The results obtained showed that the Schiff base was found to exhibit analgesic, antipyretic and CNS activities. The analgesic activity of the Schiff base compared to the standard drug pentazocine was found to be higher in the first hour and then the activity decreases slowly. The reduction in the rectal temperature for this compound was observed to be less than the standard drug paracetamol. 4-(4-hydroxy benzylidene amino)phenol Schiff base of 250mg/kg possessed CNS stimulant activity with a probability <0.001. 4-(4-hydroxy benzylidene amino)phenol Schiff base was found to possess highest glutathione thiolesterase inhibitor activity as 86% and other activities greater than 80% as per the prediction using PASS (online bioactivity prediction software) .Keywords
