Introduction: Children are very active and curious. They spend most of their active time at school and are at risk for injuries and sickness. School teachers are responsible to take care of them at school. Knowledge of first aid will help the school teachers to treat the children at school.
Objective: To assess the knowledge of primary school teachers regarding first aid for common ailments.
Methodology: A descriptive study to assess the knowledge of primary school teachers regarding first aid for common ailments in children was conducted in selected Primary schools at Mangalore. Convenient sampling technique was used to select 100 primary school teachers from 4 schools. Data was gathered through structured knowledge questionnaire.
Results: The results mainly found that 26% teachers had inadequate level of knowledge, 71% had moderately adequate level of knowledge, 3% had an adequate level of knowledge on first aid. The Association between knowledge score and demographic variables was assessed by using chi-square. There was no significant association found between any of the demographic variables and knowledge level of primary school teachers on first aid.
Conclusion: It is concluded that primary school teachers lack knowledge on first aid. Study recommends that the primary school teachers must undergo training in first aid to treat the common ailments in children at school.

Introduction: Pain is a subjective experience and is influenced by individuals sensory, affective, behavioural, cognitive, socio-cultural and physiologic components. The children who are the vulnerable group for the pain experience in the hospital, the pain assessment and management in children is a challenge to nurses. Objective: To assess the knowledge and attitude of staff nurses regarding the assessment and management of pain in children, find correlation between the knowledge and attitude, and find association between knowledge, attitude and the selected demographic variables.
Methodology: A descriptive survey approach was used to assess the knowledge and attitude of staff nurses regarding the assessment and management of pain in children in selected hospital Mangalore. Convenience sampling technique was used to select 100 staff nurses. Data was gathered using the structured knowledge questionnaire and the attitude scale on assessment and management of pain in children. Data was analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics.
Result: The study results showed that the majority (53%) of the sample had inadequate knowledge regarding assessment and management of pain in children. Majority (77%) of the sample showed favourable attitude towards assessment and management of pain in children. In the study there was a significant association between knowledge and the selected demographic variables and the attitude and the selected variables. There was also a significant correlation between the knowledge and attitude of the staff nurses regarding assessment and management of pain in children.
Conclusion: The study concluded that the staff nurses have inadequate knowledge and a favourable attitude towards the assessment and management of pain in children. It is recommended that continuing education programmes can be conducted for the staff nurses to enhance their knowledge.

Background: As the temperature around the world is climbing, Arctic ice is rapidly disappearing, glaciers and mountain snows are melting. Studies showed that higher percentage of children expressed doubts about global warming. Children's perceptions about global warming are considered as important and it must be examined to protect the globe from natural calamities. This provoked the investigator to conduct a research to create awareness on global warming.
Objectives: Assess the knowledge on global warming and assess the effectiveness of computer assisted teaching on knowledge regarding global warming.
Materials and Methods: The research design chosen was pre experimental design with one group pre and post test. Seventy adolescent students of 11th and 12th standard were selected using convenience sampling technique and administered with a structured questionnaire prior to computer assisted teaching. The post test was conducted after one week and the difference between pre and post test scores were compiled. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to assess the knowledge and effectiveness of computer assisted teaching.
Findings: The findings of the study revealed that in the pretest, majority(57%) had inadequate knowledge, 33% had moderately adequate knowledge and only 7% had adequate knowledge, whereas after the computer assisted teaching, the post test reveals that majority (83%) had adequate knowledge, 17% had moderately adequate knowledge and none of them had inadequate knowledge. There is a significant difference in the pre and post test knowledge at P< 0.05 level.
Conclusion: Today's children are tomorrow's consumers and policy makers. Their current knowledge, attitude and behavior will have profound impact on how the world's future stands against global warming. So let us educate and sensitize the children on global warming and it's impact on health.

Objectives: The major plan of this research concentrates to generate enhanced web log file using pre-processing stages. Designing an effective web site is a big challenge. With the development of Internet, web sites become a dynamic tool in the world. Methods/Statistical Analysis: Well management and good design are the vital individuality of a web site to congregate the consideration of visitors. There are various methods to generate web log files. An effective analysis is performed on user data on the Educational Institute web site. This can be done on web logs which are generated as a result of user’s access to web page. Data cleaning is performed on this web log file using Advanced Data Cleaning Algorithm (ADC) to generate Enhanced Web Log File. Findings: In this paper, the log file of an educational institute was taken, pre-processed and analyzed using an effective algorithm. The Advanced Data Cleaning Algorithm produced efficient and useful data for performing further stages of Pre-processing. It uses server log files to provide user access patterns. The Enhanced Log File contents are inserted into a database table. Application/Improvement: This paper mainly deals on techniques for enhanced data cleansing, user recognition and session detection for preprocessing stage. Keywords

The objective of the study is to assess the level of knowledge of mothers on immunization with a view to develop an information booklet. The study design was non-experimental exploration survey. The sample comprised of 30 mothers of under five children, who were visited Yenepoya hospital, Mangalore. The data was collected by using baseline proforma and structured knowledge questionnaire. Overall result had shows that 30% of mothers had poor knowledge, 43.4% of mothers had average knowledge, 23.4% of mothers had good knowledge and 3.33 mothers had excellent knowledge. There is no significant association between knowledge score and selected demographic variables such as age of mother (χ2= 1.28), religion (χ2= 0.09), educational status (χ2= 7.03), monthly income (χ2= 0.65), occupational status (χ2= 0.32), source of information (χ2= 10.1), and exposure to mass media (χ2= 3.01). There was asignificant association between knowledge and exposure to mass media in relation to immunization among mothers of under five children
