Designing a group of elevators in a building has long been recognized as an important issue to improve transportation efficiency, since elevator service ranks second after heating, ventilation and air conditioning as the main complaints of building tenants. This project implements the scheduling of a group of elevators with destination entry and future traffic information for normal operations and coordinated emergency evacuation to improve transportation efficiency. The operation of the lifts will vary for different modes like normal, emergency and priority modes. In the normal mode the lift in the nearest floor should move to the destination. The floors are identified through IR sensing. In the emergency mode when smoke is sensed in any of the floor all the lifts should move to that particular floor. Movement of the lift should be faster compared to the normal mode. In the Priority mode, whenever more than one passenger has requested for the lift, the lift should be allotted to the highest priority person, here the priority of the person is identified by the RFID tags.Keywords

The Reconstruction in Image processing is oriented towards modeling the degradation and applying the inverse process in order to recover the original image. Magnetic Resonance (MR) imaging and spectroscopy provide a number of practical applications for both clinical and scientific purposes. To obtain good quality images with Magnetic Resonance (MR), it is necessary to have good spatial homogeneity in the Bo field for the region of imaging. Field homogeneity is difficult to achieve, particularly for short bore magnets and higher fields. There are several post-processing techniques adopted for correcting the distortions. But these are not gives the theoretical background. The proposed technique FRFT for reconstructing the MR signal acquired under the presence of quadratic fields. The FRFT provides a precise theoretical framework to understand the distortions and to reconstruct MR data.Keywords

Drought is as natural as climate and its variability. We are motivated to conduct the present research study with a special focus on risk coping strategies of farmers in rain-fed agricultural States of Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh – in three out of the 'Big Five' States in India.
Through primary data, we found that there is a substantial decline of 71.8 per cent in the total income of the respondents in the three study regions during the drought period. The extent of inequality in the incomes in the sample households is also high at 0.87 (Gini-coefficient) during the normal rainfall year and this declined to 0.25 during the drought period indicating that the inequality in the income distribution of the sample group is relatively lower during the drought period. While large and medium farmers households are the worst affected due to occurrence of drought, small and marginal farmers are relatively unscathed as they might have depended on other sources of income during the drought period.
Most of the farmers could not repay the loans as they are unable to receive remunerative prices for their agricultural produce and some of them are expecting loan waivers from the government. Our results showed that adopting crop saving irrigation followed by cultivating long duration crops, and using family labour to reduce cost of cultivation are the most preferred strategies embraced by the farmers when they face early drought situation.
