Abstract

Psychological assessment is the most powerful tool in an inclusive classroom setting. It is one of the advantageous practices that support children to achieve success in and after completing school. Different challenges faced by parents, teachers, and school administrations can easily be detected through this. Psychological assessment is not only helpful to benefit kids with previously diagnosed conditions but also plays a big role to place children in classrooms by motivating them to grow both intellectually and personally. Based on above-mentioned quote representatives of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) under the Aegis of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India and the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), New Delhi are working tirelessly on the effectiveness of its schools in relation to psychological assessment. Under an inclusive classroom setting Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has provided the best possible ways for screening, diagnosis, intervention, evaluation, selection, and certification that provide support for parents and school administration with the help of teachers, counselors, and special educators. The present research paper is based on the best practices of a CBSE school which highlights the smooth functioning of student screening, identification, accommodation, and real-life experiences. The multidimensional psychological characteristics are through psychological domains Intelligence, Aptitude, Interest, Personality, and Values in relation to psychological tests, interviews, case studies, and observation. It depicts the natural working and achievements of the school in the wide areas of classroom problems held due to environment, behavior, and other psychological issues faced by each and every type of learner including children with special needs. The practical situations and case studies included in this research paper will definitely be a great help for newly developed schools under the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

Abstract

A child needs a physical, social, and emotional environment immediately after his birth. He is an active or inactive member of many groups and plays a complicated role in all of them. Family relationships are always responsible for shaping an individual's well-being for better and worse throughout life (Merz, Consedine, Schulze, & Schuengel, 2009). The present study is devoted to explore and describe the acceptance-rejection by parents in relation to the adjustment of adolescents. For this purpose, a descriptive cum exploratory research design has been adopted in the present investigation. A sample of 100 students (50 boys + 50 girls) of class XIth and XIIth from a CBSE school of Haryana state was collected for the study. The data was collected with the help of the Parental Acceptance-Rejection Questionnaire (PARQ) and Indian adaptation of Bell's Adjustment Inventory. The present study revealed that parental acceptance and rejection play an important role in the behavior of a child. Achild getting accepted by his or her parents is more likely to be confident, as compared to a child who is getting rejection and facing negligence from his or her parents. The basic concern of the study is to investigate the parental acceptance-rejection of adolescents in relation to their adjustment, academic stress and self-concept level. If psychologists need to design the most appropriate interventions and developmental activities, they must know the concerns and needs of the population they serve

Abstract

The family has the most intense and consistent contact with the children from infantile dependence to at least the adolescent stage in every society. The family exerts a persistent influence in the life of a person because it is the family in which he has his first and most intimate experiences. Regardless of his age, a child has a need for love, acceptance, limits, and consistency. The child who does not experience affection in the home always faces difficulty to establish affectionate relationships with people outside. As a result, he appears to be rigid, which is a big hurdle in fostering good relationships in life. It is important to understand the parenting styles and emotional climate that children face at home to fully understand the processes of child development. Authoritarian, Permissive, Authoritative, and Uninvolved / Neglectful are four common parenting styles that refer parents use to raise their children. Parental acceptance-rejection affects not only the personality of a child but also the behavior and adjustment during a more crucial period in life, i.e., adolescence. Adolescent children face curiosity and anxiety due to physical changes that affect their self-esteem. Chief components of parenting are discussed in the present research paper. As a parent, there is a need of accepting our own limitations like the inability to spend quality time together, to know and accept our own physical and economic constraints. Investing time and energy in the child's early years can help to prevent small problems of childhood.
