The rising electricity demand in our country did not match the generation and the shortage percentage according to 2013 is 17.3%. Our government is basically behind the generation part but the conservation is also very important to save electrical energy. In connection with that our team working towards to save energy through the initiative named MGR Vision 10 MW, which was inaugurated in our university to reduce 10 MW generation in 10 years. To achieve the goal our team initial work is to conduct electrical energy audit for a residential house in Chennai. After several analyses suitable recommendation will be provided to the house for saving energy. We also suggested the recommendation to house for implementing suitable DG for effective savings of electrical unit consumed. Our team is planning for a big project by completing 25 houses, 2 industries, and 2 commercial buildings. Keywords

The electricity requirement of the world including India is increasing at alarming rate and power demand has been running ahead of supply. During recent year due to increase in price of conventional fuels we are reverting back to renewable energy sources. The main aim of this project is to save electricity by providing sustainable powered to movable refreshment shop by tracking the sun rays. In case of rainy days, the power will be provided to shop with the help of dynamo which is coupled to paddle of shop. To maximize the sun tracking we can use the multiple reflection technique by placing the mirror near the solar panel.

The challenges in the present Distribution System, how to manage the DG power for smart operation and control with energy efficiency. In connection with this, Indian Government had taken keen steps to motivate the public customers to install DG nearer to their places to generate their own generation. This paper discusses about how we can install the restructured micro grid to save the energy for the Distribution Feeder. The existing Indian Distribution Feeder simulated in PSCAD and Restructured to MG1 and MG2 with Interconnected connection to Electricity Board. The performance of the proposed MG studied for steady state and transient conditions.

Peer-to-peer (P2P) networks are vulnerable to peers who cheat, propagate malicious code, leech on the network, or simply do not cooperate. The traditional security techniques developed for the centralized distributed systems like client-server networks are insufficient for P2P networks by the virtue of their centralized nature. The absence of a central authority in a P2P network poses unique challenges for reputation management in the network. These challenges include identity management of the peers, secure reputation data management, Sybil attacks, and above all, availability of reputation data. In this paper, we present a cryptographic protocol for ensuring secure and timely availability of the reputation data of a peer to other peers at extremely low costs. The past behavior of the peer is encapsulated in its digital reputation, and is subsequently used to predict its future actions. As a result, a peer's reputation motivates it to cooperate and desist from malicious activities. The cryptographic protocol is coupled with self-certification and cryptographic mechanisms for identity management and countering Sybil attack. We illustrate the security and the efficiency of the system analytically and by means of simulations in a completely decentralized Gnutella-like P2P network. Keywords

The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of any country is linked with the energy usage. The per capita annual average energy consumption in India is around 1000 kWhs. The Government of India is taking necessary steps in increasing per capita energy consumption through the capacity addition during XI and XII Plans. So far, around 78,700 MW and 51,000 MW has been added during 11th and 12th Plan respectively. But, there is a power deficit of around 6% and energy deficit of around 5% exist in our Country. To fill this gap a huge capacity addition is required, which needs larger investments. One of the finest way of narrowing this gap is usage of energy in a efficient way, which requires minimum capital investment and short payback period. The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Government of India is working towards reducing energy intensity of the Indian economy. The BEE co-ordinates with the designated consumers and agencies in performing the regulatory and promotional functions in improving energy efficiency assigned to it under the Energy Conservation Act, 2001. According to the current scenario of the increase in the demand, VISION 10MW which was inaugurated in our college has taken an effective initiative to reduce 10MW in 10 years by conducting electrical energy audit in house, industry and commercial building. The team has completed the audit in 25 homes, 2 commercial building and 2 industries till date. In this paper auditing has been done in an industry and the same has been analyzed using ETAP simulation software. The analysis has been done based on the single line diagram, energy consumption pattern, age of the equipments, etc. Accordingly suitable recommendations have been made to improve the energy efficiency and reduce the utility tariff bill of the industry. Keywords

In this paper we are going to found out the theft in the distribution line using intelligent systems with the help of PMU. By measuring the voltage and current in a multiple bus system and comparing it with a reference bus having known voltage and current using MATLAB/ETAP.
In the case of wide area power monitoring, we are going to use an intelligent technique, to find out the unauthorized person, who is consuming the power in unofficially and which bus, which place it gets consumed.
