Objectives: The performance of parallel input and series output configured interleaved high gain DC converter using MPPT algorithm is analyzed. Methods: The output power of PV varies due to change in temperature and irradiation levels. This reduces the conversion efficiency. Hence, Perturb and Observe (P&O) algorithm is used to achieve maximum power from PV panel with suitable duty ratio and also improves efficiency. The simulations are carried out using MATLAB/SIMULINK to validate the operation and effectiveness of the converter using MPPT algorithm. Results: The transformer-less two phase interleaved converter not only produces high output voltage but also reduces voltage stress of active switches. The simulation results for the converter using P&O algorithm is presented in this paper. The various parameters such as output current, output voltage and output power of the transformer-less two phase interleaved DC converter were compared with and without MPPT. Conclusion and Application: The converter with MPPT produces an output of 248.2 W which is 1.1 times that of converter without MPPT. Thus, the two phase’s interleaved DC converter with MPPT shows better performance and can be used for standalone applications.Keywords

To fulfill this, wireless communication industry worked hard and defined a new air interface for mobile communications. That is Long Term Evolution (LTE ), is the evolution of the Universal Mobile Telecommunication System describes standardization work by the 3rd Generation Partnership Project. It enhances the overall system performance by increasing the capacity of the system along with improving spectral efficiencies while reducing latencies. In order to achieve above requirements important changes have been required at the physical layer e.g. new modulation and coding schemes, reduced Transmission Time Interval (TTI) or advanced medium access techniques. World Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMax) is one of the leading technologies in the context of Broadband Wireless Access (BWA). The Bandwidth reservation allows IEEE 802.16 networks to provide QoS guaranteed services. The SS (Subscriber Stations) reserves the required bandwidth before any data transmissions. Due to the nature of VBR applications, it is very difficult for the SS to make the optimal bandwidth reservation. It is possible that the amount of reserved bandwidth is more than the demand. Therefore, the reserved bandwidth cannot be fully utilized. Although the reserved bandwidth can be adjusted via BRs, however, the updated reserved bandwidth is applied as early as to the next coming frame. The new scheme is ‘Bandwidth recycling’. In this scheme, the SS releases its unused bandwidth in the current frame and another SS pre-assigned by the BS has opportunities to utilize this unused bandwidth. This improves the bandwidth utilization. Moreover, since the existing bandwidth reservation is not changed, the same QoS guaranteed services are provided without introducing any extra delay. The three additional algorithms have been proposed to improve the recycling effectiveness.Keywords

Peer-to-Peer (P2P) networks establish loosely coupled application-level overlays on top of the Internet to facilitate efficient sharing of resources. They can be roughly classified as either structured or unstructured networks. Without stringent constraints over the network topology, unstructured P2P networks can be constructed very efficiently and are therefore considered suitable to the Internet environment. In recent year‟s peer to peer system have been evolved in all kind of areas. Unstructured peer to peer has been preferred for most of the application to share file among them. But searching, or locating a peer or file in unstructured peer-to-peer system is a tedious process. That is the existing flooding mechanism reduces the efficiency of unstructured p2p networks. To avoid this we have to implement an efficient routing technique. SocioNet, a social-based overlay that clusters peers based on their preference relationships as a small-world network. In SocioNet, peers mimic how people form a social network and how they query, by preference, their friends or acquaintances. This SocioNet combines with the advantage of cluster based intelligent searching (CIS) algorithm provides that an efficient routing in unstructured P2P. The system clusters peers according to the preference relationship. In the SocioNet the cluster-based searching scheme is used that intelligently forward queries on the maximum independent sets (MIS) of networks. In each cluster the cluster head is being selected, these cluster heads form a MIS and are connected through gateway nodes. Between clusters, CHs intelligently forward queries via gateways to the best neighbor CHs that are most likely to return query results.Keywords

Pervasive is an open environment which requires strict control over resources. We may not want to offer all available services to every new user who enters the environment. To address the challenges posed in pervasive computing systems a resource discovery with risk is needed to resolve security and privacy issues. A risk evaluation becomes significant when a service request comes from an unknown user. Risk is calculated on the security level of the requested service. Token based approach is followed when the user uses the service. In this paper we discuss the emerging technology of kerberised service discovery with JINI.Keywords

Problem statement: In the last years, we have seen that the use of P2P applications has increased significantly and currently they represent a significant portion of the Internet traffic. In consequence of this growth, P2P traffic characterization and identification are becoming increasingly important for network administrators and designers. Also increasing amount of P2P services not only consuming a lot of bandwidth but also influencing the performance of other business. Another difficulty in identification of traffic in P2P is that P2P applications have the ability to disguise their existence through the use of arbitrary ports and explicitly try to camouflage the original traffic in an attempt to go undetected. In this paper we have analyzed different type of identification methods and compared the efficiency in each method. Approaches: 1. P2P traffic identification using Cluster analysis which seek five traffic discriminators and applies cluster analysis to identify P2P traffic. 2. P2P traffic identification based on double layer characteristics which identify traffic based on flow characteristics and payload characteristics. 3. Transport layer heuristic identification in which P2P traffic flows are identified by analyzing the statistical properties of the flows and their behavior characteristics. 4. Payload-based IP traffic identification packet payloads are analyzed to determine whether they contain specific signatures of known applications. Results: After analyzing each model we find out that there are both advantages and limitation in it. We have simulated those models and compared with each other. Conclusion and Future work: With the widely adoption of the P2P, the method for the control and the management to the P2P applications has become a research hotspot. In this paper we analyse different methods to identify the traffic in P2P application. In future we try to build a new algorithm which combines the best capabilities of the analyzed approaches.Keywords

In any seminar/conference hall, whenever a speaker/presenter wants to switch over from projected presentation to board due to some audience query, a physical person is needed to monitor the speaker activity and then control the lights accordingly. Lighting generally consumes 25%-50% of total electricity consumption in such a building. The previous techniques had focused on power density control without considering the control reference value. Compared with conventional dimmer method, the proposed method does not cause any harmonics. If a person enters to the monitored area, the PIR sensors the person; this information is send to the MSP430 controller. After sensing the person, LDR checks the light intensity of that particular area, whether it is bright or dark. Depending on the LDR output, the lamp may be turned on / off or intensity can be controlled by using dimmer circuit. To obtain homogeneity of light intensity, a model of fuzzy logic control system is used. As output, this control system will change duty cycle of Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) which is used to control the illumination of Light Emitting Diode (LED) lamp .This automatically adjusts light brightness to a level that allows the user’s eyes to be comfortable. The proposed system is able to minimize the energy consumed for lighting in a room and can able to provide it efficiently.

Model reduction of linear control systems is an important area of research. Over the last few decades, various methods have been devised for the model reduction of linear control systems using transfer function approach and state-space approach. In this paper, we use state space approach to investigate the reduced order model design for the linear discrete-time control systems using the dominant state of the control systems and detail its applications, namely, the observer design of reduced order linear control systems using the dominant state approach. Our state-space approach of reduced order model design for large-scale discrete-time linear systems essentially uses the modal approach (Sundarapandian, 2005) for the model reduction of the original discrete-time linear control systems. As an application, we detail the exponential observer design for estimating the dominant state of the given discrete-time linear system. A numerical example has been provided to validate and illustrate the reduced order model result derived in this paper.Keywords

Ontology is a formal description and specification of knowledge. Information systems are expected to be able to understand the semantic meaning of words and phrases, and be able to compare information items by concepts instead of keywords by using ontology models. In this project, a personalized ontology model is proposed, that learns ontological user profiles from both world knowledge base and user local instance repositories. Hence user background knowledge can be better discovered and represented while integrating global and local analysis within a hybrid model. This ontology model will be compared with several benchmark models and will be evaluated how it is successful in acquiring user required information. This project also extends the study on ontological mapping that will improve the performance of personalized user profiles.Keywords

Packet loss is a major issue in Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) data transmission which is caused by malicious packet dropping and link error. In conventional methods, the malicious dropping may result in a packet loss rate that is comparable to normal channel losses, the stochastic processes that characterizes the two phenomena exhibited in different correlation which would affect the network performance i.e. detection accuracy. By detecting the correlations between lost packets, we will decide whether the packet loss is purely due to regular link errors, or is a combined effect of link error and malicious drop. In order to overcome these issues, we have proposed a HLA (Homomorphic Linear Authentication) based on routing protocol which is a collusion proof mechanism and resolves the public auditing problem. Here, the proposed technique will be implemented in OLSR (Optimized Link State Routing) Protocol. The actual status of each packet transmission i.e., the packet loss information can be described by our technique. The network simulation results describe the performance of the proposed method in terms of detection accuracy in low computation complexity. Our HLA based OLSR protocol is compared with existing AODV, RIP and other protocols.Keywords

Background/Objectives: Extracting 3D information from two dimensional images is tedious process and challenging task. In this paper, a novel 2D to 3D conversion model is presented to convert monoscopic 2D images into 3D stereoscopic images. Method/Satistical Analysis: The depth information about key frames is extracted from the 2D images. Then both foreground and background objects are extracted using background subtraction algorithm. From the generated region of interest both forward and backward motion pixels are extracted in the form of vectors. Gabor filter is applied to decompose high pass luminance and chrominance. Each pixels decomposed with gabor filter is estimated with its own sub band to model the depth information. Findings: Depth map associated with each sub band and its oriented pixels are mapped with the depth information of 2D images and this makes a realistic view of 2D images in 3D stereoscopic view. Application/ Improvements: The proposed model is experimentally tested on both right and left view and the results shows that the presented model is better than the traditional model.Keywords

Sterculia foetida Linn., (Sterculiaceae) known as Wild Almond or Java olive is an attractive umbrella shaped spreading tree. Traditionally, leaves as well as the seeds have important medicinal values as they contain Sterculic acid(53%) as a constituent which has proven to have interesting pharmacological applications such as anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetic and anti-obesity potentials. The tree yield edible seeds rich in fat (30-36%) and protein 11.4%. Traditionally leaves and bark are used as aperient, diaphoretic, diuretic and also used in the treatment of rheumatism, obesity, gonorrhoea, dropsy, skin diseases etc,. The plant is rich in fatty acids and flavonoids. This review summarizes the overall research of phytochemical and pharmacological activities of Sterculia foetida in the recent years.Keywords

This proposal is a new way of communication to the speech impaired people to communicate with normal persons. Hand gesture recognition system act as a mediator between the computer and humans using a hand gesture. “Sign Language Communicator” (SLC) is designed to solve the language barriers. Image processing is used to better extract features from input images. Threshold-based segmentation and slicing technique are used to segment the image. Images are converted to grayscale from colored. YIQ, YUV, YCbCr, YCC (Luminance - Chrominance) these are the television transmission color spaces, sometimes known as transmission primaries. The skin recognized image was processed with both dilation and erosion to get the image clearer The Region of Interest (ROI) of the image was set to the minimum rectangle. In the algorithm Region of Interest (ROI) plays a major role as it is the area subjected to matching. Classification system consists of a database that contains predefined patterns that compare with a perceived object to classify into the proper category. Where in the second phase consists of text is converted to sign image? The input text is to be given prior, the process of character separation and identification, template matching occurs. In character separation and identification each character is separated using the array. The input text is to be received as a hand gesture as an individual character.

The main aim of this study is to find the work life balance and it causing stress among the female employees working in IT sector. The primary data is collected by using primary method such as questionnaires. For this study questionnaires are used to collect primary data from the respondents. Factor analysis is used to find the result by the researcher. The results shown that Work-life-balance is an important issue in IT profession. In today’s competitive era, with changing demands, regulations and so much pressure the work needs have increased a lot. This leads to increase in stress level of the female IT employees .Majority of the respondents expressed that there is no separate policy for work life balance in their organisation and many people were doing work overtime.Keywords
